Steel Industries

The steel is a metallurgical branch dedicated to the transformation of iron. This mineral is usually turned into a blast furnace through an installation that merges it into a cylindrical capsule through which the coke’s solid fuel undergoes chemical reactions transforming it into iron.

All products obtained are part of the steel industry, industry that has a large number of strategic valuable metals (the tungsten, nickel,
chromium and magnesium). From these metals, it is possible to manufacture a variety of tools related to all types of economic activity such as construction, the automotive industry, shipbuilding, heavy machinery, etc.

According to the Brazil Steel Institute, the Brazilian steel production is around 33 million tons / year with a number of direct jobs around
116,000.
